Wow, Mrs. Contreras just becomes one of my favorite authors. I had a great pleasure reading There is No Light in Darkness. What a great debut book by Mrs. Contreras. Be warned there is a major cliffhanger at the end!

I thought the way Mrs Contreras tells the story by writing in both Present and Past times was great! It explains so much with each of the event that happens throughout the book. There is No Light in Darkness have captivated my attention from page one and continue pulling my heartstrings, I simply cannot put my Kindle down!

Blake Brennan has endured so much at age 4 years old, she is a survivor but still living in fear. She is determined to learn about her past, unravel the mysteries of her mother’s murder, and father’s disappearance. She learned that nothing is what they seem, and she was warned that looking for truth will only bring danger to her and her love ones. Will she be able to let go of her past, for the sake of the safety of her love ones? Or will her past caught up to her and took away the choice from her?

As the past and present blended, we slowly learned about the special bond between Blake and Cole. They were destined to be together, but Blake seems to have serious commitment issue, thus it was not always easy for them. As much as Blake tried to push Cole away, life kept pulling them back together, though neither Blake nor Cole were perfect, but they completed each other. Blake an Cole are hot together and they share so much history, which makes their love so beautifully!

I enjoy learning about each of the characters, I thought the family connection of Blake and her foster family were incredible, I loved how they support and protects each others. The plot of this book is full of mysteries and surprises, you can never be sure about anyone and anything.

I highly recommend this wonderful, gripping, emotional mystery thriller book!
