Kit Colbana is always biting off more than she can chew. She has a knack for finding trouble. This time, though, trouble finds her. Someone from her past drops a case into her lap that she just can’t refuse...literally.
People on the Council are dying left and right and she’s been requested to investigate the deaths. The number one suspect? Her lover, Damon. If she doesn't clear his name, he gets a death sentence. Even if she succeeds? They still might try to execute him. Oh, and she’s not allowed to tell him about the case, either.
The stakes are high this time around, higher than they've ever been. Kit may be forced to pay the ultimate price to save her lover’s life...a price that could destroy her and everything she loves.

Warning! This book will break your heart! (Tears)

When Kit’s ex-boyfriend asked for her assistance that she cannot refuse, Kit knows there is going to be trouble. Especially when the sole suspect of the investigation is her shapeshifter lover, Damon.

In a way I thought Kit and Damon are very much alike, in this book they were both trying to do what they thought were best for each other, saving one another no matter what the consequences. However, I could not but help to be a bit disappointed the way their relationship took an unexpected turn, the whole time I was like THAT WAS ALL IT TOOK? WHAT THE HECK?!

This book is full of action, although very little romance, but it’s still packed with quite a bit of heat. Like I said, be warn of heartbreaking plot, and how this book ended. It was one hell of a ride the author has taken us on. I can’t wait to read the next book, and learning more about Kit’s heritage, as well as Kit and Damon’s relationship. 2014 is too far away! Also, if you are interested to read from Damon’s POV, definitely check out the author’s website! (Spoiler alert, be sure to finish reading Night Blade first!)
