Early in her life, Josephine Malone learned the hard way that there was only one person she could love and trust: her grandmother, Lydia Malone. Out of necessity, unconsciously and very successfully, Josephine donned a disguise to keep all others at bay. She led a globetrotting lifestyle on the fringes of the fashion and music elite, but she kept herself distant.
While Josephine was trotting the globe, retired boxer Jake Spear was living in the same small town as Lydia. There was nothing disguised about Jake. Including the fact he made a habit of making very bad decisions about who to give his love.
But for Josephine and Jake, there was one person who adored them. One person who knew how to lead them to happiness. And one person who was intent on doing it.
Even if she had to do it as her final wish on this earth.

Kristen Ashley has to be my favorite Contemporary Romance author, I don’t know how she does it, but she seems to be collecting my tears left and right.  Not to mention I need a reminder to never start a Kristen Ashley novel after 10pm, because I will never go to sleep once I start reading.  And The Will was no exception.

While this was another older age characters’ story, when I was reading I really didn’t feel like they were “older” (same can be said to her other romance with older age of the characters).  Ms Ashley is a master in creating very well-like and easily elate to characters.  I really love the family aspect in this book, which seem to be an important part in Ms Ashley’s Contemporary Romance series.  I enjoyed reading about Josephine’s character, her oddness makes her a unique character, then of course the alpha-male Jake Spear who will easily swoon you over.

The Will has quite a unique story plot, very well-developed and engaging characters, that which I an say I enjoyed every word of this book.

I highly recommend this book to readers who enjoy reading a good emotional contemporary romance story.  I can’t wait to read the next book of the series!

Happy Reading!!XO

About Kristen Ashley

Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA and nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorize and she hadn’t taken her first breath!). Her mother said they took Kristen away, put her Mom back in her room, her mother looked out the window, and Gary was on fire (Dr. King had been assassinated four days before). Kristen’s Mom remembered thinking it was the end of the world. Quite the dramatic beginning.

Nothing’s changed.

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana and has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus, she’s blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her family was (is) loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write. They all lived together on a very small farm in a small farm town in the heartland. She grew up with Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing, it keeps getting better.
